You're not going to get 4.5 ghz with a processor temperature of 30 C with a watercooling setup. The best you can get with watercooling at that clock speed is ~30 C delta from the water temperature I believe, maybe 40 C. With typical room temperature around 22 C, that means 50-60 C at best. That's if you have enough radiators to keep your water near room temperature.

You will need a phase-change or another sub-ambient setup to get it cooled down to 30 C under full load.

ya just something that would keep me from touching 70c -- would a bigger radiator like a h80 do pretty well?

Are you looking for an all-in-one setup, or a full custom setup? Because those are two very different things.

If you're looking at all-in-ones, the H100 if you can fit it would be your best bet. Or you can get the Noctua NH-D14, that will cool on par or better than the H80 as I recall.

That doesn't sound right at all. It really depends on what you are starting with and how much you are over clocking to get that 4.5 ghz. I'm running an FX-6100 currently at 4.3 ghz with a cooler master hyper 212 evo CPU cooler on it. It is 22 C in my house right now and running all 6 cores 100% for folding at home im maxing out at 40 C. I cant imagine that water cooling wouldn't be as good as a $40 CPU cooler and fan.

id also suggest the H100 if you can fit it. if you are wanting to go more custom and spend a lot more on a nice system to cool more than just the cpu, check out frozencpu.com

here is a link for the H100

AMD measures core temperature differently from Intel as I recall.

List of Sandy Bridge overclocks. The overclocks for 4.5 ghz range anywhere from mid-50s to mid-80s.

ya i was looking into custom WC but it a little to pricey for me. i was running 4.5ghz with an H60 just fine, but when i would put it under a high load like 'old-republic' it would jump up to 75-80c. so i am looking for something to keep it under 70c. which i may go with an H100

anyone know much about peltier cooling?
