BF3 Ultra - Page 3

I would go with one monitor and a single 7970, then later if you want to add some monitors you can just xfire the 7970. A 6970 lets me play on ultra with my sig rig, but some people think its not 'playable' below 45fps. I dont seem to mind/notice

I would go either with the 580 3GB SLI or 7950 CF, though you may still need to turn AA off and textures set to high, not ultra for 60+ FPS. For people recommending single GTX 580 solutions, I dont think a single nvidia card can handle more than 2 monitors.

You're right fuad, a single NVIDIA card cannot. Also, eyefinity is a MUCH better monitor setup than NVIDIA surround.

I just bought a couple EVGA 580 Classifieds and have them running in SLI. I can't stress enough how badass these cards are and how badly my wallet is hurting from buying them. =\

Also, go with ATI if you want constant driver issues and problems playing newer games.

meh. 7970's are still better than gtx 580's A LOT better to be frank. and both have driver problems. tbh I had more problems with my gtx 480 SLI than my HD5970+5870 trifire and HD6870 crossfire

Here is the full build. Please disregard the video card. I want to stay under $2000 if possible. You can also remove one of the monitors.

With the Tahitis GPU's out, i find it difficult to suggest GTX 580's of any flavour. HD 7950 for the win.

No not yet.thumb.gif

I'm leaning towards this because it goes along with my build theme. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150586

Minimum 7970, really probably need SLI/CF setup. The review below shows FPS on BF3 at 5760x1080 (3x 1080p monitors).

Here's a few more cards just for comparison reasons.
