Gaming Laptop!!! - Page 4

I bought my ASUS G50V in October of 2008. I don't do much gaming on it anymore, but it's still a solid performer. Definitely have to hand it to ASUS, they make quality laptops. thumb.gif

Actually, the only game I do play on my laptop is Age of Empires II... like a BOSS. redface.gif

Don't bring up price/performance, that isn't what we are talking about.

Seriously??

For five dollars less, you can get a Sager with a 2960XM, 6990M and 8 GB DDR 3-1333. You do the math.

He said that Apple laptops cannot play games. I proved him wrong. I didn't say anything about the ridiculously overpriced Apple computers. Read the very last line of my post again.

The OP did say that they had a $1500 spending limit so apple is not a good choice for a gaming laptop. I also like the Alien ware m14x i am going to college graduated.gif: and need something that games and is portable and has good battery life ( yes i know people don't like it on this site but it just seems very reliable from what iv read and everyone seems extremely happy with it, although everyone seems to be happy with any laptop they get thumb.gif- and its supa ricey! tongue.gif ) , the Sager is not a very good choice for me because it has a terrible battery life of 2 hours eek.gif but in your case it seems like a good choice with the best reasonably priced mobile graphics cards out there and its easy to add ram compared to the Asus g53sx also i heard the the Asus G53sw was better than the G53sx because it comes a gtx 560m with the full power 192 bit version and the G53sx only comes with a watered down 128 bit version of that graphics card.

There are $600 laptops that totally destroy the M11x in terms of performance.
I would go for the G53, it offers much better performance gpu wise than the alienware laptop. I would have gotten a sager laptop instead of my Alienware, but to me personally I just like the alienware's looks better. Stupid reason I know. I would also like to note that if you do happen to end up with an Alienware Laptop, I think it is a great idea to get a extended warranty, the reason for this, is that their laptops get faced out so fast that they don't have parts for them sometime, and you can get a full system upgrade. For example My M17X R2 had some issues, and they did not have parts for it so they are sending me a M18X, with 6990m crossfire.
