Need some guidance from a pro.

I have a phenom ii x4 810. Stock it's at like 2.6ghz and I'm really wanting to get it around 3.2. It's not BE so I can't change the multiplier. Also having it at 3.2 makes it so I can keep my ram speed just over 1600. As far as I can tell the cpu does not over heat when i up the fsb from 200 to 250 to get my OC I want. While playing games though after an hour or so it blue screens and doing things like watching movies I get blue screens or plugs in on chrome stop working. I'm just not experienced enough to pin point what is causing the problem. My mobo is a M4A79XTD EVO, I have 4 gigs of ddr3 1600 OCZ ram at 7-7-7-24-20, XFX 5770's in crossfire, and a corsair 650 watt psu. I'll post any more information, screenshots, and dump files(have no idea how to read them) if you want them just ask. Any and all help is appreciated.

did you up the voltage ? how high did you go with the volts ?
what were your temps ?
you really need to run stress tests to make sure the overclock is stable.
can you change the ht link when its overclocked ? you really should keep it as close to 2000mhz as possible.

good luck thumb.gif

Cpuz showed my HT link at 2000 after the over clock. If I remember correctly my temps were around 42 degrees but I cant remember. Cant OC it atm and check them. I know I set the cpu voltage to 1.5. I know this doesn't count as a stress test but every time I tried updating my windows index thing where it gives you a score and it always blue screens. I am using a stock cooler from a amd athlon ii x4, Im wanting to get a h100 which I think will help. I didnt mess with the ht link when I OC'd it. No experience with that or how much to change it. Thanks for the reply.

First off you should really full out all the details of your rig so the people here would be able to better help you. To start with, do you have an aftermarket cooler? If not I would say don't even try to OC above the stock voltage.

One of the basic rules of OC'ing with the FSB is that you need to back down your RAM speed, as well as loosen the timings.

So lets say your ram at stock is 1600 7-7-7, try going for 1600 8-8-8, doing this might help with stability a bit

I'm using the stock cooler from another cpu, so no on the aftermarket cooler. Trying to get a H100 water cooler some time soon.
Haven't tried to do anything yet, but I loosened my timing to 8-8-8 and changed my fsb from 200 to 250 to get from 2.6 to 3.25.
Also, while in my bios found out how to unlock 2 extra Mbytes of L3 cache. Im goign to include a bunch of cpu-z pictures of my specs.
Someone posted earlier to try and keep my HT at around 2000mhz. Cpuz is showing it at 2500. Will that hurt my mobo? I read that they could help
having it higher so I'm confused on why to get it around 2000mhz

Going over 2000 HTT doesnt help much of anything, CPU_NB otoh...

Speaking of which, did you bump CPU_NB voltage? If not, you should set it to around 1.4v. If you have already boosted the voltage, you may need to drop the CPU_NB multiplier by one to get stability.

Yeah, your CPU_NB is at 2500 (in the memory tab). It will definitely need some more voltage for that speed, considering 2600 or so is a good average OC on that core from what I have seen.

here's a guide:http://www.overclock.net/t/777378/official-gappos-little-deneb-thuban-overclocking-guide-with-too-many-smileys/0_20

you should be able to go higher with the clocks..on that voltage..
lower your RAM speed..add some cpu/nb voltage..bump ut the ht voltage a wee bit..not much there..
and set your NB voltage @ 1.26
try that..

Id say that 1.3v on the CPU_NB would probably be good, Ive seen people run it at the same voltage as VCore w/o negative side effects. Especially seeing as the X4 810 is a die salvage part with memory controller/L3 defects.
