I like the Razer Imperator. I don't keep track of all the mice, but this one works well for me and I like it more than the G9x.

Double check to make sure your G9 isn't still under warranty (3 years) - Logitech support is pretty amazing. I was having trouble with the thumb buttons on one of the grips and asked for a replacement. They ended up shipping me a brand new G9X since they no longer have replacement grips for the G9 (nor the G9 itself).

In my opinion you can`t go wrong with either SteelSeries Xai or Sensei, both are superb mice.

I've gone through dozens of mice. Let me give you a top pick list and tell you why. You decide. I currently use the Razer DeathAdder 3.5G Black Edition. I absolutely love it despite for a while I was so skeptical of Razer because of it's shotty reviews and build quality.

(not in particular order)

1. Kinzu
Claw grip style
No-nonsense business
Very slight acceleration
Matte

2. Mionix Naos 3200
Palm to finger tip grip style
Extremely comfortable (most comfortable mouse i've used)
Minimal with back and forward side buttons
Very slight deceleration
Rubberized

3. DeathAdder
Fingertip to palm
Very comfortable
Responsive, great sensor
Slight acceleration, less than Kinzu
Rubberized

My favorite mouse of all time is the G5. Not the G500 or M18, but the scaley G5 mouse by Logitech. It's discontinued but if they had the 1600 DPI version of it again I would get it. Mine broke and I can't seem to find another good one.

The Kinzu's right click button would always double click and so I had problems with it. The firmware and drivers always broke on me. Acceleration was a bit too much as well.

Mionix Naos 3200 was the most comfortable mouse I've used. However, the left click was too soft for me. It wouldn't spring back enough for me. Deceleration was annoying for starcraft, but great for BF3.

DeathAdder right now is perfect for me. It seems to have the perfect balance of mouse acceleration. It's control, responsiveness, and overall design pleases me and satisfies me in every way. I like the Black version because it doesn't have any lights. It's just a great mouse and I don't think I'd trade it for another (UNLESS YOU HAVE THE ORIGINAL G5 BRAND NEW.) If I had to describe it as a feeling, the mouse feels absolutely natural for me.

I agree here, very nice mouse for a decent price lasted me quite long. Currently I'm using the Logitech G500, also a great mouse. Comfortable and great programmable keys and the weights are nice for some personal choice.

Bashing Razer mice and quality control has been an e-sport for a long time. People gets medals at the best bashes too. [/irony] Translation : there's lots of Razer hate all around for no specific reason.

DA3.5G shouldn't have any accel at the 1800CPI step on 500Hz polling rate, and it shouldn't exhibit any accel either on the other CPI steps unless the maximum perfect control speed is lower on your specific mousemat.

Afaik there never was such thing as a G5 which upper limit was 1600CPI, or that would be the Mx518. G5 had a max CPI of 2000 and two versions : vanilla one with 4 mouse buttons and the G5 2007 version with 5 mouse buttons and latest firmware flashed in from factory. It wasn't a bad mouse at all, but the max speed it was able to handle was very low.

@OP :
You should give some extra info if you want informed help as to what mouse would fit you the best, like what kind of grip you use on your mice, what's your sensitivity and so on, just like it's stated on there :
