Crossfire Question

Thread Starter
Hi Guys

I just got a 6850 but I was wondering what I can crossfire it with? Is it possible to do crossfire with a 6770 or a 7750?

Thanks

Thats wrong they can be different cards ie a you can crossfire a 6850 and a 6870 but can they come from different series?

Actually, I believe crossfire will only work as long is its the same series of card i.e. 6870 & 6850, however when the cards are not the same the more powerful card always scales down to match the lower card (the 6850 in this example). So bottom line is if you want to crossfire your 6850 then you're either going to need another 6850 or a 6870, those are your only options. Hope it helps!

At this moment, you 6850 can crossfire with 6870 and 6790 but not 6770.

Whether a 6870 can crossfire with 7750, it is highly unlikely.

This is the case where you wanna keep it in the family... lol 6850 will only pair with 68xx cards so on because it has to have the same series GPU... important things to note are similar memory sizes and GDDR

Edit the reason i say note those is because if you crossfire your 6850 with a card that may be compatible but has less mem or something it is going to dumb down the better card so it is redundant.
