Help! 2600k only stable @ 4.5/4.6Ghz with high voltages!

Thread Starter
HI just started overclocking my 2600k and I have run into a vcore brickwall it seems.
Using an MSI Z68A-GD65 mobo fyi.

Basically the lowest voltages I can get for a stable 4.5 OC is 1.365 vcore, and 1.415! for 4.6... these are waaaay too high imo.

Here are my settings in the BIOS, any help would be appreciated:

cpu adjust 46, or 45 respectively

internal PLL Auto

DRAM freq Auto

X.M.P. Enabled

spread spectrum Disabled

VDroop control low VDroop

CPU core voltage (1.365 for stable 4.5, 1.415 for a stable 4.6)

CPU I/O voltage Auto

DRAM voltage Auto

Hyper Threading Enabled

limit CPUID Max Disabled

Execute disable bit Enabled

Intel Virtuaklization technology Enabled

Power Technology Disabled

C1E Disabled

Overspeed Protection Disabled

also, the bus speed for this board is 99.8, which may be having an effect? Not really sure how to adjust it tho :/

Max is 1.89 or 1.9 for PLL. Try 1.86

You need to set custom power limits. Read the guide by Sin to see where to change them.
