nice to know that SONY has move to the right path. next thing to do is select the right chip for processor and vga to able producing a high quality games without costing a lot. maybe if AMD able to work with console makers on managing efficiency of BD processor chips and then put it in the console so that the console system able to give a high quality game, I think it would be nice. Since it will also give a developer load of space in pushing graphic and UI in game. well this is actually my hope ^^

Even shoddy ports, and buggy games aren't usually a sign of laziness, they're a sign of a publisher just wanting people's money and they're not willing to invest the extra time and money it takes to make a quality product. That's not necessarily laziness, that's greed. Most actual developers are working 50-60+ weeks, 50 weeks per year, I wouldn't call that laziness.

Fair enough. My Definition of lazy Is when people don't put more effort into whatever they are programming. I'm not just talking games, Applications in general.

Call of duty is the perfect example.

For those who don't know the early PS3's had PS2's processor built inside, but the later fat models had ps2 software emulation. They dropped it for no reason really... not the lack of hardware.

It's SONY we're talking about here. They DON'T learn, that's why this company is so fascinating. Once they get something right, they deliberately screw it up for the next generation.

That being said, the Sony buying back Cell production (and 45nm) is news to me. IIRC, they dropped their own internal fabs after 65nm. So this could be an indicator Sony is serious again. However, every fab node is about 40% more expensive than the last (going by TSMC figures, here), so unless if Sony buys off another fab, I don't see then actually going anywhere with it (someone said something similar already, above). Even MSFT is going to have to ditch GloFo (well, just the Chartered fab, since IBM no longer directly fabs the xbox360 CPU), since GloFo has stated Chartered is not being upgraded past 45nm.
