  • Samsung s27a750D (27" glossy screen, displayport) <-- ATI 3D, not good w/ NVIDIA 3D
  • Samsung s23a750D (23" glossy screen, displayport) <-- ATI 3D, not good w/ NVIDIA 3D
  • Samsung s23a700D (23" glossy screen, dual-dvi) <-- ATI 3D, not good w/ NVIDIA 3D
  • BenQ XL2420 (24" matted screen, displayport & dual-dvi) <-- best 3D features, a lot of position adjustments

top 4 monitors...forget everything else....if you like glossy screens (smoother image quality, more vivid colors that "pop"), get one of the Samsungs. If you like matted screen or plan to do some serious 3D gaming (not buying just because of the 120hz smoothness?) get the BenQ. I tend to lean toward Samsung myself...I just love glossy over matted too much to care for the extra features that BenQ offers (I don't use 3D). However, if 3D is my primary purpose...I would probably get the BenQ.

it's on my list...my post above tells you what I think of it. It's a very good monitor as long as you don't mind matted screens (or if you have a lot of light/windows in your rooms). It is also best in terms of 3D features and height/tilt adjustments. That being said..I still think the Samsung has a slightly better picture quality..due to the glossy screen.

The Alienware OPTX AW2310 for 3D. Nvidia 3D has a ton of 3D support behind it, and I would recommend it over ATI 3D. 3D surround kind of sucks (had it for a short time, it was not impressive, tons of heat, tons of GPU horsepower needed, FOV issues.). If you do go 3D, single monitor is the way to go (doesn't really suffer from any issues, and works quite flawlessly). The Alienware doubles the backlight brightness in 3D mode, but doesn't support 3D vision 2 Lightboost, however overall it seems to be a better build quality, and produces a more quality picture opposed to the BenQ, which is why I lean toward this.

good choice, especially since it sounds like 3D is your main focus...I think BenQ XL2420 is best for you.

Get the ASUS VG278H that's what I bought and it's just amazing.
You won't regret. I'm planning on buying 2 more of those to go 3D surround ^^
