Assembly and Multiple Precision unsigned Arithmetic

this is for a lab and i dont have to do any coding as the code is given to us but i need to understand this. Im asked for the precision of the data. Im given 887FF3 in hex it;s 3 bytes. And i believe that the precision is 2, 88 7F F3 each one of these is a byte, and the addition program can only add 2 nibbles at a time. This is why i believe that the precision is 2. At least that is what i gather from this lab, but i cant find any solid evidence to back this up. So im here smile.gif

Precision? What? I think that only applies to real (i.e. floating point) numbers, not integers.
