[TPU] Kepler Unbeatable: NVIDIA - Page 2

To be fairly honest I'm just waiting on Kepler so AMD lowers the 7970 price down, only then I'll buy my new card.

Does nVIDIA remember that the HD7990 is still to be launched?

Not exactly sure what you're hinting at with that...

nVidia still has their dual gpu card to release yet also... so... yeah.

Yeah its pretty sad. Nvidia will be basically doing it arse backwards.. Jan 9th Amd releases there flagship single gpu card (7970). A month later they release a suitable runner-up to their flagship with the 7950. 2 months later they will release the fastest gpu ever made in the 7990. With Nvidia its here is are runner up gpu in March/April and 2-3 months later are flagship 680 (5-6 months after 7970) maybe longer who knows. We will be lucky to see the 690 by the end of the year putting the 7990 a whopping 9+ months ahead with 28nm tech. Fan boys can say and speculate all they want but what is clear is Nvidia dropped the ball on this one. By the time Nvidia's cards are back on top in performance and taking back control of the gpu market Amd will have there 8000 series in production and out by Jan of 2013. I wanted to go Nvidia but there is no way I'm going to be able to pass up the 7990. And by the time the 690 comes out the 8990 will only be a few months away again reclaiming its reign.

Has anyone noticed how all these claims seem to appear around the same time as each of the 7xxx series cards launches?

When the 7970 benchmarks appeared that one Nvidia slide was leaked showing the Nvidia 7xx series appeared. Then again a few days before the launch of the 7970 another slide showing the Nvidia 7xx series appeared. Well now we know both those slides were fake because 1) it's the 6xx series and not the 7xx series and 2) Nvidia haven't got any performance results now so they didn't over two months ago when those slides appeared. rolleyes.gif

When the 7950 was released or just before there was all the rumors of the $300 Nvidia card that is going to beat the 7970. There was also the rumors of the Physx block and how the card would destroy games that used physx.

Now less than a week before the 7870 and 7850 this rumor pops up, INB4 more rumors appearing on the release day or just before/after the 7870/50 go up for sale.

If this bombs I'm going to be so pissed. I want to upgrade my GPU but not if it's another firey disaster that needs a 1500W PSU like Fermi 1.0.
