Hi, my name is Vandel. I just bought a new gaming rig for the intent of gaming and live streaming. This is the best computer I have ever owned and my first real dive into overclocking. I have alot of questions and am looking for easy to understand steps into getting the full capabilities of my computer.
Here is the RIg and specs:
SYX UG-5 Ultimate Gamer (Bought it from Tiger Direct)
Specs from my Invoice
- Intel Core I7-2600k 3.4Hz 8m 1155 Processor
- (2) 4gb DDR3 1600mhz PC3-12800 Gaming Memory w/Heatsink
- Intel DP67BG LGA1155 ATX Motherboard
- Dual GF GTX560TI 1gb GDDR5 PCIe Video Card
- 12X SATA DVDRW/Blu-Ray reader combo
- COA 120mm Red LED case Fan 4p
- 850 watt ThermalTake w0319ru Power Supply
The Processor's heatsink, as informed by SYX Tech Support, is a Glacial Tech Igloo 1100 CU PWM :e: PLT. ( Will be replacing as soon as possible)
I also upgraded with another 8 gigs, Corsair. Runs great.
Just so you know, I do have Real Temp and Prime95 for stress testing.
Onto the main part. I know that Intel motherboards have a bad reputation which it has earned. On the other hand, the DP67BG LGA1155 seems to be a better motherboard from their extreme series and mostly from research seems to have more pros than cons. I bought this computer as is and really dont have the money to change it at this time, so just roll with me. I am here to learn and hopefully be able to dive into this with an open mind. Just point me the right way.
Mostly, I don't know much about intel bios and really need assistance with that.
Thanks,
Vandel
