Why WoW? - Page 3

I don't think its the best game ever. Its the most addictive game in the world hands down though.

And blizzard makes $1.68 billion profit per year from it. The sad thing is, why make SC2, Diablo3 or WC4 anymore?

WoW really doesnt take much skill. Just the ability to select certain options, a repetitive task that could easily be learned by a monkey. FPS games always require you to be on edge. Ping doesnt really matter. I can beat people who have half my ping. Its all about skill and reflexes. And FPS games dont require you to play hours on end just to "LVL UP" so that you can actually have a life.

Not to mention the graphics suck.

The graphics suck, yes. But in BC they have increased the polygons by 20% and anyway, it just means it is more accessible to everyone.

i think its one of the most popular because it requires little or no skill, so anyone can do it and they feel good thinking they are good at something even though they realy arnt

Oh I don't think so. It is the most popular because it is social, it is easy to play. If you want to be pro though, it is FAR from easy (unless you are korean ). Some of the very high level raids (naxxramas) take 5-6 hours of team work.

No offense man but WoW doesnt reall take skill, It may be fun sometimes but it doesnt really take skill.
Then you weren't playing your charecter....You were having your guild drag you through ZG/MC while you atuo attacked and watched some TV and stuffed your face. I play a rogue raiding and I can tell you that it CAN get borring, but thats only when everyone is sitting around waiting for others to get back so we can kill a boss. The boss fights are fun and getting to the bosses is fun. And yes, it will be mindless if you don't actually play the game, slaker.

Oh yeh, and in reference to others posts and PvP...it takes quite a lot of skill. I was never in a raiding guild until a month ago and although I do kill much quicker and have a touch more survivability, its basically the same thing as when I sported sub-par gear. You still have to play it just as closley as an FPS....

P.S.- I hate those people that go to raids and go and slack off while everyone plays just making the dungeon even harder (which is sometimes actually more fun). But you my friend are why raids fail. Takes like two healers to slack off and everyone dies. One tank to mis-position a boss and kill the whole raid. One rogue to pull agro and follow suit with the tank. If your gonna play the game, play the game. I watch South Park almost EVERY second while I play WoW...but I am also making sure that I get my part done.

Oh yeh, it also helps to be playing with a really enjoyable group of people. My guild is really freaking whacko and basically, we just joke around the whole time until we get to a raid boss where we all concentrate for the 5 mins and then go back to screwing around.

I also find it disturbing when guilds force their players to stay online and concentrate for that long. We usually rade for 3-4...but we have multiple breaks and like I said before, mostly screw around. (although, we don't screw around in Nax too much as it is new content and one wrong move could mess everything up)

-EDIT-
SORRY FOR THE DOUBLE POST....just saw this after I had already posted and wanted to comment. And yes, the game can be easy to play. Its also fun to interact with people all over the world. But like NrGx said...if you want to be good though, it takes quite a lot of skill.
