The Medusa's are great I hear. They are THE gaming 5.1 headphone. However if you spend the cash on say an X-Fi I would just get some high end stereo headphones like some Senn HD555's.

What about the Icemat Siberia's + onboard sound?
Would you recommend that combination?

I would stick with the Medusa's over the Icemats IF you go with onboard sound. Also its a lot better to get some regular headphones and buy a cheap clip on mic.

The X-Fi is a decent deal thats about $125 and to be honest if you can afford it get it! The cards make a world of difference. I own a Xtrememusic and a Fatal1ty and they are superb with my HD555's.

EDIT: I didnt realize the x-fi came with a pair of headphones. I would take the deal then as they are pretty much giving you a pair for free.
