Serious budget gaming computer

Thread Starter
Can someone let me know if either of these computers are worth it?
Obvious advantages over the second one are the 10 extra gigs of ram, increased HDD space, and included USB 3.0 ports. Is the 200 dollar difference worth it?
First One
Second One

Thanks for the help!

A little background by the way. I want to have a computer for my girlfriend to play Sims and surf the internet with for <$800. This has to compete with the iPad in the house so I figure I should make it as fast as possible. I would prefer to have the device be as future proof as possible. Oh and the reason I'm not going through the build process on this one is I only have a week to have it together and have no time.

depends on what your going to to with the extra ram, but extra hdd space is always welcome smile.gif

Using gaming build pretty loosely. I have been debating these two and a third.
If you're going to be gaming, you need to tell us which games you want to play and at what resolution.
As is, neither of those computers are good for gaming. They don't have a graphics card, they use intel's HD 2000 which isn't good for any sort of gaming. The computers are also going to have weak and unreliable power supplies, so if you want to add a card, you'll need to upgrade the PSU. 16 GB of ram won't help for gaming, 8 GB is already more than you'll need.

If you're comfortable with building your own (it's easy, it's like legos except pieces only fit 1 way), give us a budget, the games you want to play, and your resolution and we can come up with a better build in terms of performance at the same or lower price.

edit: the third is the best one so far, because the APU actually has slightly decent graphics, but you could still do better if you're willing to build it.
the last one is pretty decent, but dont expect any jaw-dropping visuals.
EDIT: i just say its just the sims 3 and internet? then any if these will do, but i would take the last one, for future proofing (sims 4)?

:doh.gif: OEM computers..that's NOT a gaming machine..WHY 6 gb RAM? that'll reduce RAM throughput by half versus 2 X 2-4 gb
sticks in dual-channel mode.OEM mad.gif
It's really not hard to build your own..
For $5-600 bucks..I could put something together wayyy better...with a real gpu,even!
