1066MHz Memory Running at 400MHz

Thread Starter
Hi, I was wondering why my 1066MHz memory only runs at 400MHz. I made sure my board supports it. Right now I have 2 2GB sticks of DDR2 1066 memory. I'm very new to overclocking and was wondering what I could do to fix this.
Probably it runs at 800, and shows the single-rate freq instead of the important, dual-rate. It's a common thing.
No DDR2 mobo supports actual 400Mhz RAM.

You proly just need to change the setting in your BIOS from 400 to 533.

pc2-3200?

anyway you would have to check your bios it is probably set @400 which is actually 800Mhz.
you would have to change the memory divider to 533Mhz

That would fix it? Do I have to mess with voltages? I think the advertised voltage for my memory was 2.3V. However I could only get it to 2.31 in BIOS.

Okay, I'll restart and go into BIOS to see how it goes.

In BIOS there were only two speeds. 333MHz and 400MHz. So no changes were made in BIOS.
400mhz = ddr800 you need to set it manually to ddr1066 or 533mhz

You're stuck with 800Mhz smile.gif No worries, you probably don't lose much performance, because the timings drop with the freq, so performance is mostly retained from 1066 to 800 smile.gif
