Assistance please?

Hi, my name is Vandel. I just bought a new gaming rig for the intent of gaming and live streaming. This is the best computer I have ever owned and my first real dive into overclocking. I have alot of questions and am looking for easy to understand steps into getting the full capabilities of my computer.
Here is the RIg and specs:
SYX UG-5 Ultimate Gamer (Bought it from Tiger Direct)
Specs from my Invoice
- Intel Core I7-2600k 3.4Hz 8m 1155 Processor
- (2) 4gb DDR3 1600mhz PC3-12800 Gaming Memory w/Heatsink
- Intel DP67BG LGA1155 ATX Motherboard
- Dual GF GTX560TI 1gb GDDR5 PCIe Video Card
- 12X SATA DVDRW/Blu-Ray reader combo
- COA 120mm Red LED case Fan 4p
- 850 watt ThermalTake w0319ru Power Supply

The Processor's heatsink, as informed by SYX Tech Support, is a Glacial Tech Igloo 1100 CU PWM :e: PLT. ( Will be replacing as soon as possible)
I also upgraded with another 8 gigs, Corsair. Runs great.

Just so you know, I do have Real Temp and Prime95 for stress testing.

Issue I have come into recently is Intel's new bios. It seems they decided to take a couple of steps back from their original intentions of building a board, which was intended for OC, into realms again outside of it. Granted I did not build this computer, rather I bought it without the intention of OCing until of course I discovered the I7-2600k purpose and abilities. Ect ect. I am sure you know how it goes.

My problem now is that with the bios having blocked many of the options people use to OC their systems, is there a work around that does not need me to downgrade my bios? Or other methods. If not, I guess I will take my questions to the motherboards forum.

Anyways, I am willing to learn.

Thanks, Vandel

If this is your cpu cooler..:eek.gif: change that,ASAP
Hyper 212+ on the cheap side
Corsair h100 on the high
In between is the A70 and Noctua NHD-14..all are..better than that^^ ph34r-smiley.gif

Here's the best Sandy Bridge OCing guide I know of

Umm..first you need to find out about your motherboard..umm..download cpu-z or pc wizard from cpuid.com

I actually know most about my motherboard. Been doing alot of research. Issue right now is new bios for SB and Intel's big stuff has blocked any OC from being done. As for my Heatsink, yes I know all about what I need to know about that. Right now its just fixing my Bios and all that jazz. With all I have done, my computer is idle at 28-30c so its all good on that end. Its just getting the bios fixed, which may result in me going back a few updates to reopen the OC options.

Which was my actual question. Not how to do it, but how to get my bios to let me do it.

Plus I already have all that and Prime95.

Have you tried updating/rolling back your BIOS version? Also some mobos such as Gigabyte ones have a key command you have to press to access additional OC options. For example on GB boards it is CTRL+F1.
