Internal sensors get less accurate the further they are from the max safe temp. Nothing to worry about. They don't bother calibrating them for cold, just for hot. The sensors just go "I'm chilling out here, nothing happening, so cool and relaxed I can't even see TjMax from here, I'll just make a number up... If I start working hard, I'll go get a real number, until then, who cares?"

And no, you're not entirely crazy, with no variety in the ways to clock up any s1155 chip, it is insanely dull. I just put in some numbers from a magazine review, wound my 2600k up to 4.6 and it's stable. Dullsville. I spent several happy days getting my old PhenomII rig to its' best speeds, and that was fun, but I daren't even touch Bclk on this rig in case it corrupts everything.

That was my thought, I got my 2500k up to 4.8ghz way to easily. I'm having fun with my 860 right now doing some old fashion bclk OCing.

Great deal, I just sold my 2 last-gen AMD systems and used the money to buy a LGA1156 Xeon for $150 and EVGA P55 Micro Sli for $80.

Nice, which Xeon did you get? I was looking at those too, but the cheapest I could find was a x3440 for around $200.

Yeah, I lucked out on it, it was a long story why I went 1156, but I'm happy I did, love the system now. Staying at 55 C folding 24/7 on just a Coolit Eco, which means ton's of overclocking headroom if I increase cooling, even to just an H80.

Originally I was looking at an 860.

Yeah, that's not bad at all. How do you like that little evga board? I love my full sized version, it's the reason I wanted to add an i7, I just can't part with this board. I am going to do some testing on the gigabyte board later today, after I get my 860's OC stable.
