If you had more programs in the background, there'd be a difference. I've got quite a lot of programs in the background (you know, Steam, Origin, Xfire, Skype, ESL Wire) and more RAM was a huge upgrade for me. BF3 was the only thing that struggled badly before though.

Right but if I'm actually in a game I have no need for a bunch of other stuff running. Even with 4GB I never had any problems with my normal stuff i.e. Firefox, Origin,Steam and vent or mumble running while in a game. The prices on DDR3 are so cheap now if you're buying RAM theres no real reason not to go ahead and get 8GB though.
