Here is an official shot of Windows 8 Build 8432. They removed Aero like they said they would, but notice its not completely gone. The task bar still is powered by Aero.

And its confirmed Windows Explorer will be known as File Explorer.

I'm running Win8 on my spare Dual Xeon machine with a Wacom Cintiq as the ONLY screen/input. Had surprisingly few problems with it, compatibility wise. Even all the side shortcuts work fine under Win8 and are really handy for getting back to the Metro interface.

Obviously the hard disk was the bottleneck pre-Windows 8 and so these numbers are pretty useless. You're comparing different OSes, different boot drives.
