I noticed how text would only blur in my web browser (Firefox) and only momentarily. Usually after a second it fixes itself though sometimes it doesn't and clicking on the mis-aligned text seems to straighten it. I haven't noticed this happen anywhere else.

Also for some reason it doesn't save my gamma settings for the desktop after I shutdown, so everything looks overexposed. Basically when I boot up everything looks normal until the desktop finishes loading and the default gamma values are loaded over my custom one. I've had this issue with stock Windows 7 too for a while until it mysteriously stopped happening.

I'm interested in jumping onto the W8 wagon. How's the driver compatibility at the moment? And what about games and W7 programs?

Every game and program compiled for Windows 7 will work on Windows 8. As for driver support Microsoft did a good job at covering a ton of hardware, tho you will see a device here and there slip up without a driver. Tho manufactures will cover that shortly after release day.

I'm really enjoying Windows 8. I don't see what all the complaining is about. It takes like 1 hour to adjust to some of the new behaviors, but afterwords its just like 7

Second video on first page was very good, learned a ton of the new features.

E: Don't know if anyone else mentioned it but you can also bring up the shutdown menu with ctrl+alt+del, not just the "charm" menu

Firefox has a glitch on Win 8 only. If you don't like it, disable Hardware Acceleration for the moment and you won't be facing the issue anymore.

I *need* to replace Bing Maps with Google Maps as a Metro tile, for example, before I even consider slapping Windows 8 on my desktop. It's currently on my laptop as "experimental".
