Windows 8
Windows 8 is the basic edition of Windows for the x86 and x86-64 architectures. This edition contains features aimed at the home market segment and provides all of the basic new Windows 8 features including the Start screen with semantic zoom, live tiles, Windows Store, Internet Explorer 10, connected standby, Microsoft account integration, the Windows desktop and more.

Windows 8 Pro
Windows 8 Pro succeeds Windows 7 Professional and Ultimate[2][3] and is targeted towards enthusiasts and business users; it includes all the features of Windows 8. Additional features include operating as a Remote Desktop server, the ability to participate in a Windows Server domain, Encrypting File System, Hyper-V, and Virtual Hard Disk Booting, Group Policy as well as BitLocker and BitLocker To Go. Windows Media Center functionality will be available only for Windows 8 Pro as a free "add-on."[4]

Windows 8 Enterprise
Windows 8 Enterprise provides all the features in Windows 8 Pro (except the ability to install the Windows Media Center add-on), with additional features to assist with IT organization (see table below).[2] This edition is available to Software Assurance customers, as well as MSDN and Technet Professional subscribers, and was released on August 16, 2012.[5]

So Pro looks like the version for me.

I will try not to sound stupid, but I am about to download windows 8 pro for free from dreamspark, and I am wanting to dual boot at least until I see if I could replace windows 7 with it, I am using 2 hdds. A boot ssd, and a storage drive. How will the storage drive which is for my windows 7 games act with windows 8? I know this might sound stupid, but is it going to act weird, because I have programs installed on it and such for windows 7. I just dont know.

VLC > WMC

I use VLC for my gaming machine, but here's why I prefer to have WMC on my machine:
  • Built-in TV recording
  • Much cleaner interface then VLC when you want to browse for movies, videos, view pictures, or listen to music while sitting on a couch with only a remote control
  • Media Extender to easily add a media hub to the garage, living room, man cave, etc. using a Xbox 360

I'm aware there are individual programs that do all these things, but WMC does them all and so easily.

Windows 8 hands down the best OS ever.

Loving the Metro UI as well.

So far great.

It's an improved version of Windows 7 (for my standards and for what I look for in an OS)

Maybe if you snap it to one side? I don't honestly know, just tossing that out there.

So first issue.

The front usb 3.0 ports on my Bitfenix Prodigy don't work. I read its some sort of Windows 8 driver issue with the USB3.0 Hub
