What tools do you have besides like a drill? Any kind of saws? I don't know if tin snips could get through the metal.

So, go get a good set of metal blades. Then just tape it up nicely, mark your cut, remove all the PC hardware from the case so no metal shavings will fly into a pcie slot or something and make your cut using the jig saw and have someone else hold a vacuum near your cuts to suck up as much of the metal shavings as possible. This is how I have cut stuff in the past and it works well. I would like to emphasize removing all the components you can before making any cuts though.

Its easier than you may think.

Edit*** I said removing the bay would be ideal to prevent metal shavings from flying. but if you are forced to make the cut with the bay attached then the process is the same, and you have a way to hold the bay you want to cut already. It will work just the same. By removing the bay, you avoid having to remove your hardware from the case.

Hope this helps!

frown.gif I made some errors drilling the holes (wasn't lining them up right, so I had to drill some material away sideways, because I refused to buy a dremel. I then purchased some sort of drill brush that I used to level the surface with, because after drilling the cuts were very sharp. The brush worked fairly well, radiator is mounted now. But yeah, my tool set and case mod skill set is very limited. What's some good tools to have? I kind of enjoy modding, I'm just a poor student, so don't want to spend too much money tongue.gif

Dremel is probably the most popular tool and will do just about anything you need.

This is the 2nd best option and has been recommended many times here:

Rotary tool (Works like a Dremel, but won't last as long as one):
http://www.amazon.com/Black-Decker-RTX-B-Rotary-Storage/dp/B000MUSLCC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1325600837&sr=8-2

All the bits and pieces you will need to go along with it:
http://www.amazon.com/Dremel-709-01-110-Super-Accessory/dp/B003BIFMKG/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1325601177&sr=1-4

If case modding is all you'll ever use it for, then it should fit your budget, otherwise you would have to step up to a Dremel if you plan to use it for other stuff. They should both have free shipping (if bought together) and no tax, so it's really a great budget option.

So now that I'm very likely adding SLI GTX 470 to the loop, I was looking (again) at some new loop options. I came up with this:

504

I haven't seen many builds where people have the reservoir in the back (or maybe I have not looked enough), but this will effectively place my reservoir directly above the pump. I will probably have to use the 160mm liquid fusion reservoir instead of the 250mm one (unless I am able to fit a 250mm res in the back, in between the graphics cards and the side panel, which I doubt). Filling the reservoir might also be an issue, although that is probably fixed by using a 90 degreed angled barb.

The 160mm reservoir should fit more easily, most likely above the graphics cards, not in between the side panel/graphics card. Will most likely have to use a 90 degree barb to fill it up too.

What do you guys think about this? I will lose an out take fan. I will have 4 intake and 3 outtake. Decisions, decisions....................
