430 is not really future proof.

I had my 650w back when I first built my PC and had problems when I needed to upgrade cpu and gpu because I needed extra power. I'm with iardas, go get a higher power from a reputable brand. You'll have no problems in the future. PSU doesn't need to be upgraded every now and then.

A quality 500w unit would power ANY single GPU graphics card plus ANY desktop processor, both overclocked with room to spare. Unless you plan to crossfire/SLI high end cards in the near future, don't be fooled by the high wattage power supply hype.

1 x Main connector (20+4Pin)
1 x 8 Pin EPS 12V
1 x PCI-E 6+2 336 watt will power most video cards
4 x SATA
3 x Peripheral
1 x Floppy

if your looking for more than 4 drives you can get a Molex to sata cable. I got one just to make my tower neater.

(end plan is to have 4 hard drives in my pc.. maybe 5 but i only need 4) would it be a better idea to get something larger than 430 so i dont have to buy again or am i crazy?

And was it a quality 650w PSU or some random no name with outright lies about 650w power? My 550w PSU would power your rig, and it isnt even a particularly exceptional one.

430 is not really future proof.

The cx430 would support an i5 and 7950 just fine. Thats PLENTY "future proof" for the budget this guy is on. Nothing is really future proof...

Besides throwing around random wattage numbers like that is useless unless there are specific PSU's your talking about. Case in point a (insert random offbrand psu) rated @ 750w psu may actually supply significantly less power than the cx430 on the 12v rail.

Read my above statement. And check this out to clarify. FAQ: PSU Calculator
