true but it is pretty easy to tell if its spam, just match the text to another post and its not text that someone has quoted and so forth.. example from your post would be a post that just says

spammer's are using the quoting system and adding a jepg image to a hidden link. it doesn't show up in ie:

spam in these cases can be advertising/attempting to gain higher SEO stats or even phising i expect.. the "mark as held' is a check bos you will see if you click on the little red flag
