I would recommend that you get different ram. They are good ram, but you can get as good quality or better ram for cheaper. For instance: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147094

Why not get one 2TB drive instead of two, you will save money by going with one.

For the OS drive, if it is just for the OS and key programs, I would recommend an SSD.

For the cpu, depending on on what you plan to use your computer for you can get the 2500k. If it is for just gaming, there won't be much a difference between the two. If video editing and other cpu intensive tasks, then the 2600k is better.

Here's a sim-build ATX for you change some parts if you dont mind;

cpu Intel Core i5-2500K Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz (3.7GHz Turbo Boost) LGA 1155 ~ $225

hsf EVGA M020-00-000234 Superclock CPU Cooler ~ $50

pcb GIGABYTE GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 ~ $160

ram Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 1.35V Model CML8GX3M2A1600C9W ~ $50

ssd Corsair Force Series GT CSSD-F120GBGT-BK 2.5" 120GB SATA III ~ $175

hdd Samsung Spinpoint F3 HD502HJ/ST500DM005 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" ~ $85

odd Samsung 22X DVD Burner 22X OEM ~ $17

gpu XFX FX-795A-TNFC Radeon HD 7950 Core Edition 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 ~ $460

psu SeaSonic M12II 750 SS-750AM 750W 80+ Bronze Semi-modular ~ $130

case Corsair Carbide Series 300R ~ $85

Total ~ $1,437 (basic rig) + shipping

For gaming 2600K~2500K, same motherboard as your pick, chnge the ram to low profile less voltage less heat, change your hdd to 500GB as storage & add corsair ssd for OS, added burner, change the gpu to 7950 much better than 6970, the gen 3 of the motherboard will benefits the videocard, change the psu to same brand but lower 750wattage with xfire capability in the future, change the case to classic corsair looks in mid-tower type tongue.gif

No need for the 2600k if you're just gaming. Save the 100 bucks and get the 2500k, and depending on what type of gaming you're doing I'd say put that money towards another 6970

The samsung ram that is linked is far better than the corsair stuff you selected OP.

even though stock timings are weak, this OCs like a beast. running 9-11-10-1t @2133mhz 1.53v.

Also get an SSD instead of an OS drive.http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148442

Use the $100 you save getting an i5 instead of an i7 to get that SSD. That will make a huge impact.

The thermaltake armor is meh, I'd be looking @ offerings from corsair, nzxt or this or this one, or coolermaster

I agree with most everything posted above. Save the $$ on the cpu, and put it toward an SSD. That's the biggest performance difference you'll see for the most part. If you already have the case you mentioned, then you are saving some $$ that way too, but if not, I'd say there are tons of other cases that might better suit this build.. Ultimately with cases, it's all user preference, so get which ever you like best.

All above recommendations sound good. If you do go from the 2600k to the 2500k, I'd take the extra money, scrap that thermaltake case, and get the NZXT Switch 810. It's great for both Air, and Water cooling, and you get a lot for the price. You can get it shipped for free on Amazon if you have Prime membership, or just sign up for the trial and make sure to cancel in time.

SSD for OS drive is nice, but not essential. I have a 64gb OS drive and 1tb spinpoint for my gaming rig, it works out nice. I have about 50 or so games installed on Steam at the moment, and still a good amount of space for other files. Too bad you missed the recent Crucial M4 sale on newegg, they had 64gb drives for $65.

Everyone who missed that sale is mad.... Including me frown.gif

Anyways, the only problem i got with this build is the case. You can get a better one for the money.
