That is precisely why they exclude them. They do it for Office as well (worse actually). Why give them away for free when they can charge $24.95 for each language?

Business Bill Example: Needs to join his work domain, needs to encrypt his entire hard drive, may need to have >16 GB of RAM so he can do his auto-cad work seeing as he's in the Engineering department

That doesnt explain the need for 8 versions.

Have a single version like OS X, if the anerage joe doesnt need 16GB or RAM, it doesnt stop them.

If the average joe isnt going to join a domain, it doesnt stop him.

If this was Apple people would be screaming bloody murder, the ONLY reason Microsoft does this is to get more money..... Its not about features.....

Im sorry, but...

-Microsft does not release their OS bi yearly
-Their service packs are hardly free considering you still pay up to $445 for their full feature verson compared to $29
-OS X updates are free also
-Functional changes? And OS X hasnrt had any functional changes in the past few updates....

too many choices. Does it really have to be that complicated? They probably spend more money on their marketing department than on the developing. that's why they call it it Windows 8 cause it has 8 versions.

Windows 8 Ultra Pro Extreme Enhanced Professional Plus.

Not to be confused with the ultra semi-pro and ultra amateur versions.

There's also talk of a Novice version too.

I think I'll wait to see what Server versions there are.

Really? Not only "Professional" but then they one up it with "Professional Plus" just like Microsoft Office? I can't understand two different versions but 8? That's ridiculous, why can't they just make it simple?
