Overclock max

Thread Starter
Alright so I am still using my athlon xp-m 2500+ which i realise is obsolete at this point and it's soon time to upgrade but nevertheless I did some research and realised that, while I thought my temps were high at a low overclock, (45c idle and 49c load) My processor can actually withstand about 65c without any problems so now I've finally got my baby stable @ 2.6 (208x12.5, vcore=1.725 in bios but 1.76 in fanspeed) idle 50c with 55c load. I'm still running cpu burn-in but it seems to be holding up. I could probably go higher but my max multi seems to be 12.5 and i don't think i can raise the fsb much more without having to raise the vcore to dangerous heights. If anyone has any comments or suggestions to reach a higher overclock, please let me know.

Better cooling like water or phase change...to lower the temps
Very nice OC on the old school
Prime tested of some sort I assume?
No PC is obselete if it is still functioning properly...OCed that is!
Good work!!!

55c is considered the safe max when OCing. I see you found the XP-M didn't require a lot of voltage. The 2600+ M I had did not like 1.8v or higher on air and like yours mine did a little above 2600MHz at 1.75 so your ontrack and doing well!
So long as your not in the need for a 64 bit OS your still doing good
