GigaByte GA-890FXA-UD5 rev 3.1 and BD chips.

Thread Starter
I have an AM3+ motherboard that came out before BD even shipped. If AMD makes a revision of Bulldozer that surpasses the Phenoms would it be wise to purchase BD for my motherboard or should I just stick to the Phenom II family until I upgrade my MB?

PII is dead. Not sure if you MB Supports BD. BD will never be faster then your CPU. BD is what it is now. PD might beat it. You will probably have to upgrade MB too.

Anyway, Your board does fully support the new Bulldozer cpu's If your looking to scratch an upgrade itch id recommend

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103961 FX-8120, but wait a few days because the new 4170, and 6200 just came out, so shortly the retailers should be dropping their prices on it down to 185 us from what i read.

You can also read the above post to see if the performance of bulldozer interests you... there is absolutely nothing wrong, or slow about the deneb chip however.
