Koolance's product warranty does not cover the use of 3rd-party coolants, coolant additives, or corrosion. Koolance LIQ-702 or LIQ-705 coolants are strongly recommended to help avoid issues with mixed metals or biological growth. Additionally, do not use aluminum and bare copper OR nickel and silver in the same system.
Since when did they add this? Last time I checked (a few days ago), I don't remember seeing that last sentence.
I suppose there goes my wish of adding a mosfet/NB block over spring break.
By the way, it's on every product page, at the bottom: http://www.koolance.com/water-cooling/product_info.php?product_id=660
Update: just had a couple exchanges with their support.

Hello. I noticed that what your warranty covers has been modified (the silver/nickel bit). Will you at least cover (with warranty) water blocks that have had the nickel plating worn off (flaking) through the use of ONLY distilled water? Thanks.

Hello,
Typically, when the nickel plating comes off, it's corrosion (whether there's silver or not). Corrosion is not covered.

Even if it's just straight distilled water, with only copper/brass/nickel-plated components?
What about the nickel-plating coming off when using your coolant (not saying that there's a correlation between the two)?
Thanks!

Hello,
We don't cover corrosion at all. We strongly recommend our liquid to help slow down any corrosion. Note that corrosion can occur under almost any circumstance (see http://martinsliquidlab.org/2012/01/24/corrosion-explored/), even with a copper/brass loop.
We've never heard of nickel plating coming off when customer is using our liquid. We recommend changing our coolant every two years, or if any color change is noticed.

So yeah, looks like as soon as nickel-plating start disappearing on a block (even if it's by magic), warranty goes bye-bye.
