Razer Deathadder 3.5g Driver Problem?

Thread Starter
So I recently bought a Deathadder 3.5g and I started noticing something annoying. I went on their website and installed the windows driver v3.05. After everything was installed, the mouse still worked great as expected.

That was until I unplugged the mouse and replugged it in. Then I noticed that about every 4 seconds, the mouse lights flicker as though it is turning off and on for a fraction of a second. I also noticed it when I move the mouse. During that tiny "flicker," the mouse basically turns off and turns back on, making the cursor unresponsive and jolt.

But I can fix this by uninstalling the drivers again and just leaving it as is. Unfortunately, I can't adjust the mouse settings.
Anyone else have this problem? Is there a way to fix it?

Weird. I have a 3.5g too and everything updated to the highest firmware/drivers and this does not happen at all. You could try plugging it in a different usb port and see if it helps.

I already tried that and it still keeps resetting. The only way I can keep unplugging and replugging it with no problems is if I uninstall the drivers from the website.

Hi,

I just signed up here as i have been scouring google as i am too receiving this really strange issue with the exact same problems.

I wondered if it was shown that it's not just a one time issue that maybe somebody might have an idea?

I had this problem on my old version of Deathadder. The problem was the cable was loosing the contact somewhere. Also, try not using the drivers at all. Just install them, set everything however you like it and it should be saved on mouse internal memory, then just uninstall the drivers. Also try installing latest firmware. Don't really know what else you can try.

Dimitrije, it can't be loose cable because it works fine with Windows drivers. I have the same issue but did same (set it up with Razer drivers then uninstalled them) and the mouse works great now. I haven't actually tried updating the firmware (I don't remember whether I have the most recent version) but since the mouse works great now for me I decided not trying to mess with it. smile.gif

yeah in win7 installing deathadder's driver causes the mouse to hang ,,,and reset its config watevr u hav set....pls uninstall drivers and do driver updgrades at ur own risk as it might render the mouse dead...and nevr install any drivers for razer mouse ,,,they hav a tendency to fail

I have no problems with Firmware 2.45, to use driver 3.02

I use the 3.02 because 3.05 and onwards they introduced that G-Spy crap that installs while installing the drivers.

I believe G-SPY is a software script for macros. That name can be intimidating.

You are right, a bit of googling brings up results, saying it is something about macro functions. But as I don't use macros, I feel better without G-Spy. And that is driver 3.02.
