Bad score on M4?

Thread Starter
Hello,

So I just got everything running on my 128gb M4. I followed seans guide and I did all of the optimizations aswell. Firmware 0309.

I did an as-ssd bench and here is my score:

501

I have seen way higher scores then that so why is mine so low? there is barely anything on the thing (over 100gb unused),

I also bluescreened after finishing up with the reg edits in the optimization guide: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first. This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly.

so I don't know what that was all about. hasn't done it again.

any advice or is everything normal?

I'm no expert but what sata port are you using? Is it the blue marvel sata port? I'm plugged into the white sata 6gb port. Here are my results: 525

Here's mine and I'm quite pleased with it. Sean also took a look at this result and confirmed it was good.

LL

Now, that is running off of SATA2. You need to check the port you are on, as your board has both SATA2 and SATA3 ports, and you are getting SATA2 speeds.

Are you plugged into the grey, light blue, or dark blue sata ports?

my score is sick now thanks smile.gif

501

I am only having one more problem. Sometimes I have trouble booting. My computer started up and when it was suppose to go to the loading windows screen it just stayed black and nothing happened. Also when it does go to the loading screen where those 4 balls come in to make the windows logo it lags and then instantly boots before they even form the logo. Does it just lag because its booting so fast?

Thanks

EDIT: it seems to boot everytime now, I still get the lag though. I'm assuming it's normal because the boot is so fast but I just want to make sure.

I would believe that is why. I have seen ssd that are really fast such as your not complete the logo screen because they are so fast. they just show the logo screen for a slight second and then boot into windows. thumb.gif

Yah that's why it's lagging.

I do have another question though. When I install programs like WoW, SC2, Skype, etc.. WoW and SC2 go onto my SSD which is fine but when I install skype everything goes to my roaming folder on my ssd. is there anyway to make it so that my roaming foler is on my hdd? because I moved skype from my program files folder on my ssd to my hdd but then i realized that it's obviously in appdata>roaming.

Oh and is there a way to restore My Documents, download, music, etc.. back to their original positions? because I moved them to my HDD like in seans guide and then deleted them off my ssd but when I went to my hdd they weren't there so I made folders called My Music, My Pictures, etc... will the folders I made function like the originals?

I believe on Sean's Guide, there's a link for SteamMover. I think this may work for skype, not sure. I've had some luck with it. Worth a shot, let me know if it works.

I wouldn't be much help on the second part.
