Really eyeing over one of these bad boys.. Thinking about getting one...
Wondering if any one has one, or seen one in action ??

I have the normal version, not the Max IOPS.
It performs very good but I think you can get better performance in small files transfer with a RAID0 configuration of disks like crucial m4 or similar.

crist, do you mind posting your benchmarks for the one that you have? I'm quite curious to know how it performs after being used for a while.

Also, which size do you have? I've been wanting a Revodrive for a long time, but the only good deals as of late have been on the very old first series Revodrive 240GB (for near $1/GB from NCIX recently, but I didn't bite).

Wouldn't you need 5 of those drives in raid 0 to get that speed ??

I second this, after reading more about the "MAX IOPS" version of the 3 X2. Even with the regular 3 X2, you would need more than 3 Raid 0 M4 drives to match the performance of a single 240GB or bigger 3 X2, and a hardware RAID controller as well.

Have benched my new Revodrive 3 X2 MAX IOPS.

Not quite the result promised. Others have the same problem, here.

It promises 1900/1700 read/write and 245k IO/s. . Best case is 1550/1350 and 170k IO/s (4k random read IOMeter and Anvil).

dreliten, that's the case with ALL drives, isn't it?

The speeds advertised are max theoretical, which goes for this, M4, Intel 520, Mushkin, Vertex 3, etc etc etc...

Nope.

I think the Revo drive needs to be tested with ATTO at a queue depth of 32 iirc.

My Plextor M3 is rated for up to 510MB/s seq. reads and I get 510MB /s. My M4 is rated for 500MB/s seq. reads and I get 500MB/s. Same goes for writes.

Oh wow, I didn't know other manufacturers were more honest in their ratings than OCZ are. What a shame; in reading the reviews for the Vertex 3 and other OCZ drives, I figured all other companies followed suit...

Well the thing is I've seen tests with the regular Revodrive 3 x2 that matches mye test with the enhanced MAX IOPS. The 170k IO/S I get is rather poor. Have seen tests with the old revo on the 230k level so I wonder if I have a bottleneck somewhere in my system. I have an ASUS P6T deluxe X58 / ICH10R chipset, i7 920 @ 3,6 GHz.. Have tried to shift the revo between different PCIE with same result. Annoys me quite a bit... Thinking about returing the revo and get the regular revo instead.
