You can OC your way to 2 hour battery life!

Honestly, I don't think there is a way. However, you can undervolt it for longer battery life.

SetFSB could creep it up a little higher but it won't really do much good.

Laptops have locked BIOS's, Thermal restraints and the chips usually don't OC much if any.

Not worth it.

awww well damn thanks for the tips guys I might try setFSB but i have had an iffy experience with that program lol and a longer battery life would be nice I just don't wanna sacrifice power for battery because I use the laptop mainly for gaming and it has some trouble with some games as it is.

SetFSB didnt work and I tried a overclocking tool that is made for vision APU's and it seemed to OC but i figured out it was an "Empty OC" CPUID says my APU is at 3.9Ghz per core but its really still 1.3Ghz something about the multiplier not actually moving up

Hi,

New to the forum and to messing with computers.

I just bought a used Toshiba Satellite C675d and it has the AMD E-300 APU. I have done some research and right now I have K10stat, Core Temp 1.0 RC15, and Prime95 running trying to see what I can do to overclock this thing...it's very slow.

I have it running at 1729 MHz and 1.35 V and it is sitting stable around 59 degrees. Earlier I had it at 1950 MHz but it was at 65 degrees and I don't know what the threshold is for this processor so I guess that is what I am looking for, the max allowable temp.

Also, could somebody clue me into how the NB voltage up/down% and clock control function up/down(ms) will change the performance of the processor?

Thanks.

How did you/what did you use to overclock it to 1729MHz? (I know this post is pretty old but I hope that you can give me the answer)

I used the K10..., Core Temp..., and Prime95. I don't recommend this though. Like Jesse^_^ said, it's not worth it, laptops are locked because you can't put a bigger heatsink on them. My Toshiba didn't last much longer after I OC'ed it. I haven't gotten to rebuilding/assessing it yet but it had had a rough life from the guy I bought it from (I came to find out). You could maybe try an SSD.
