So I was randomly surfing the internet one day and stumbled across this star wars toy:
And I thought to myself, "wouldn't it be really cool to make that my pc case!" Which triggered the events that lead to my first attempt at case modding. I saw the Millennium Falcon mod back in the day, and thought that it seemed underpowered for it's time. My goal is to cram as much power as I can into this toy! Finding room for everything is going to be rough, but I think that I could pull it off.
Something that I should note on this project. It will take some time between updates. I don't make alot of money, but I'm spending all my disposable income on this project ATM since I don't have to worry about debt this year.
Here is the parts list I have so far:
Motherboard:
I chose the ASRock H67M-ITX/HT because it had all the features that I was looking for in a Mini-ITX mainboard. Built-in WI-FI, Regular size RAM, Intel Compatible, and mostly because it was small.

RAM:
Since I have recently turned into a G.SKILL fan, I decided to get G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) since 8GB will be plenty for this system, and 1333 is the fastest speed that the motherboard supports. Plus the heatsinks are really spiffy looking.

Video Card:
I was originally going to get an Radeon HD 7970, but found an EVGA 015-P3-1580-RX GeForce GTX 580 (Fermi) 1536MB 384-bit GDDR5 for a really good deal.
After lots of stress, I chose a Sapphire Radeon HD 7750 because it was the most powerful (and easily available) low profile video card.

And here is the card attached to the motherboard. I find it quite humorous really.

CPU:
I had a really hard time choosing this one. After hours of research into the motherboard, I found out that most Mini-ITX motherboards either overclock very poorly, or not at all. knowing this helped me choose both the motherboard I have now, and the CPU. Which is a ntel Core i5-2500 Sandy Bridge 3.3GHz
I don't have this part yet, but is the next part to be ordered.
Power Supply:
I have given this one alot of thought, but haven't really decided on a single one yet. I want something that is smaller than an average PSU, but all the smaller ones don't provide sufficient wattage. Any suggestions on this would be great!
Hard Drive:
One SSD and one high capacity HD should work great!
Optical Drive:
I want to put this Sony Optiarc Black 4.8X BD-ROM 8X DVD-ROM 24X CD-ROM SATA Slim Internal into the AT-AT because I want to be able to watch Blue-Ray on this, and it's slot loading.
So.....TADA! Please let me know what you think so far! Comments and suggestions are always welcome, and I can't wait to get this project going!
