I have two H100's and they both make that noise. It's all over the Corsair forums as well... TONS of folk have problems with it making that clacking noise. It's ridiculous. And it's the worse sort of noise imaginable too .. cuts through every other system noise ... as annoying as it gets.

I run my pump off a fan controller to fix this. Just 4/5% lower and it's dead silent and no degradation in temps, There's also a thread here at OCN somewhere discussing how to use a cheap diode in-line on a molex adapter which effectively drops the pump RPM's in the same manner. My rig is dead silent across the board now and so I'm keeping the H100 ... the compact nature of the thing and it's really good cooling at silent levels of operation make it a no-brainer for me.

But yeah, it's super lame that they released such a decent little cooler with such a flaw.

BTW: here's the discussion about the adapter: http://www.overclock.net/t/1209387/corsair-h100-pump-noise/20#post_16627343

Also, I met a guy on the Corsair forums who made a bunch of the adapters and was/is giving them away. PM me if you would like his email as he mentioned that I should tell anyone at OCN should anybody want one (adapter to slow pump RPMs)...

Good luck...

so i just noticed that HWinfo64 reports my +12v rail is MIN MAX and CURRENTLY at 11.984 so the grinding noise and it's not over 12v??

the pump is min rpm 2083 and max rpm 2191 reported so im not sure if lowering its speed would even help?? still worth exhcangin??
