Best AM3 or AM3+ mATX motherboard?

Thread Starter
I'm planning on using a 960T in a mATX case. I'm not too worried on unlocking but needs to be a good overclocker. There doesn't seem to be much in the world of AMD mATX motherboards, atleast compared to Intel(maximus IV Gene-Z)

I was looking at this MSI board (not a big fan of MSI) but it seems to be the best AMD mATX board http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130269
But I've seen some bad things on the forums about these boards.

Heres what my build looks like so far (idk why it showed up so small, should still be legible though..)

What would be the best mATX board? ATX is not an option.

I love my 890GXM

It's a decent overclocker, and it's a solid build

It's a tricky one, as unfortunately, there is no 'Crosshair IV / VGene' frown.gif

The MSI 890GXM-G65 is the only mATX board I can find with heatsinks on the VRM's, if that's what you mean by 'best'.

EDIT: After a bit of research, I found this:
http://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?3117-Crosshair-V-GENE-Let-s-make-it-a-reality!

Would be nice to see it happen, but it doesn't look likely tongue.gif

you might consider a.board from a different manufacturer like the m5a88 with aftermarket vrm heatsinks.

Here are some m5a88-M EVO's

Ebay
UK based shop that ships worldwide

The last thing you want is that MSI 890GXM to overclock (check out the VRM failure rates)
Far from the best, with VRM failures common despite cooling.

Look to boards with QUALITY VRM designs.  i.e. Gigabyte 880GMA-USB3, ASUS M5A88-M, etc. and ensure that you cool those VRMs! (may need to add heatsinks if you can't get airflow there) as mATX boards on AMD rarely come with VRM cooling or are as overclocking-suited in other ways as ATX counterparts, unfortunately.
