Battlefield 3...Y U NO WORK!?

Thread Starter
So I finally got battle field 3 the other day, did all there (4gb+) updates and try to start the campaign....crash "okay, stay calm. I'm sure you can fix this" but no, nothing seems to work. I've tried to changing my drivers to BF3 specific ones, turning my gpu overclock down (a friend told me it doesn't like gpu overclock, i told him he was a fool, BUT HEY, i tried it.)

i've read that there could be a problem with realtek drivers, but I'm using 5.1 headphones with USB connection so it's not that.

I'm fresh out of idea's guy and I need some help. anyone got any ideas??

It's not the overclock :/ i just set everything to defaults and tried again, but it still wont run.

It get's to the loading screen with the little blue square in the corner then freezes.

Might try uninstall, re installing :/ hope I don't have to download all the updates again ¬_¬

I feel you pain, I have the same problem.

I read if you disable realtek audio it will fix it (didn't for me) but it might be worth a shot for you to try
post #6 of 16
you mention that it couldn't be realtek because you are using USB headphones... Why not? If it's still installed it could be being used.

I have a thread if your using a x86 System to fix BF3 Crashes: http://www.overclock.net/t/1192984/battlefield-3-crash-fix-for-32-bit-os-only-sticky-this
post #8 of 16
It's probably your browser.

I couldn't join multiplayer games because Opera wasn't supported.

EA thought it was smart to make the game launched via browser and it looks like it wasn't.

i checked device manager and there wasn't a realtek device driver in audio, there was AMD HDMI (my TV), Corsair USB (Headphones), Microsoft HD Audio (onboard audio)
I tried to disable / uninstall the microsoft audio one and it just restarted my computer :S rebooted and everything was fines so i think i'll leave that one :L

Had the same problem. In my case personally (570 SLI), may not apply. But my cards handle everything fine except for BF3, up'd the voltage on my cards from 988mV to 1000mV. Problem solved.
