Small issue with tubing

Thread Starter
Just got the whole wc in my hands, everything is there solid and shiny and i was ready to start the leak test, but i have a small issue with the tubing ...

Case is that the boneville was ordered with 1/2'' fittings for 1/2'' ID tubing. The tubing ordered however was 7/16'' ID (that's ok, smaller than 1/2''), but with 5/8'' OD (which is bigger than 1/2''). As such, the tubing can't pass straight into the rad fittings.

So, i should got for 1/2'' ID with a certain OD so that the tubing can go straight into the fitting or i should get some short of convertor-fitting ( from one ID to another ID)?

Other than that, everything looks great .

I would go and buy the proper equipment that will fit. Attemps to try and mod or get it to fit can end in disastor if you are not careful.

Hmm... guess what... i measured the rad fitting and they are for 3/8'' ID tubing...

Time to contact the seller . Luckily it's not big issue.

Yes i would contact the seller and try and get the correct fittings for a safe install.

You need to have all of the same size fittings....Converters will only add resistance to the circuit that is unnecessary..

Hope this helps

All the rest fittings should be ok. Apogee, MC60W, MC655, all have both 1/2'' and 3/8''.

I might get another tubing too, since it doesn't cost much.

As for the seller, since i ordered from US it should be much hassle for a 2$ fittings. A simple refund and i should be able to find 1/2'' fitting from over here.

If you are handy with a torch you could take thos off and put 1/2" on yourself. It's very easy.

Yup, i see that the fittings can be replaced easily.

However, ill make a 3/8'' setup and see how the temps go.
