I haven't spray painted it yet but when its all done I'll post some photos of it.

Thanks for the Pics.

-MCU is the 16mb version of 9S08. Same thing that's inside the Kana/Kinzu v2 (8mb) and likely some other Logitech / Razer PTE mice as far as I can remember. Assume the encoder is also TTC?

-Internal hardware looks decent for its MSRP. Pretty competitive with other mice in the same ballpark. Initial firmware might have some bugs, but I'm sure they'll be able to correct it. (Going by what I've seen so far).

-OEM is indeed changed, but I'll keep this info to myself.

Doesn't look like any TTC encoder on their website..

-"rubber coating is much more slippery than glossy" I too bought the kinzu v2 pro only to find out that it was too small for my hands. And the rubber on the sides of the kinzu v2 is WAY more slippery than the glossy on top, which actually grip very good.

The rubber SS uses on their mice, is by far more slippery than the rubber used on the sides of the mamba.

Yes, the rubber coating SS use is "lower quality" compared to Razer. My DA is the black edition, and the rubber sides on that have better traction than on the RAW and KinzuV2Pro. The RAW rubber version uses the same rubber coating (sprayed on) on the top as the sides, which to me feels the same as the sides of the KinzuV2Pro.

I like the shape of the mouse which is why I have gone to painting it glossy. Still haven't decided whether to just apply a glossy lacquer, or go wild and paint it another colour. I know making it glossy will make it a better mouse to grip as I stuck some sellotape on the palm rest area, buttons, and sides. Immediately better to hold and grip, and so more comfortable to use.

Well you saved me a headache as I was leaning towards the rubber, so many thanks. I can't even hold the DABE. It just slowly slips from my hand when I lift. I'm quite interested in the Taipan as well but if its £80 in the UK they can forget it. £50/$50 got to be my budget for mice.....not because I can't afford more expensive but because I feel I have to draw the line somewhere.

I wish I liked the G400 shape. Life would be simple but even with big hands it feels like driving a bus with my c0ck.thumb.gif

Ok, that's bad. We can return stuff when bought online within 14 days. As long as it doesn't get scratched or something. (software and customized stuff excluded).

They are crazy, this shop changed the price for the Sensei Raw from 55 to 136€ because they didn't get it in stock by now.

But there are still some, that offer it for 55€

Question:

Is the rubberized Raw the same as XAI regards to coating?

Both on sides and top?

I love that xai coating and want that again.

So anyone with both the xai and the raw rubberized that can compare I would be greatful.
The only thing holding me back from ordering a raw rubber.

I hate glossy if its the same plastic glossy as kana white, not for me.

You never tried Ikari laser and Xai if you said that.

Dont think so since SteelSeries has been changed through the years and they will probably not use the same high quality coating spray from the good factory they tend to make a mouse from.

I have never used an Ikari or a Xai so I wouldn't know. I only said that in the context of comparing the rubber coating on the RAW/KinzuV2Pro, and the Razer DABE. And even my old trusty MX518. Apologies if people thought I was referring it to all SS mouse.
