Assassin's Creed series: Worth playing? - Page 2

I have AC2 for both xbox 360 and PC, and I liked it on PC much more. I think it's because I have better control /accuracy when free running. thumb.gif

Can't say I've tried it with a controller, but keyboard is fairly easy to use/intuitive if you know how to use one of those.

If you are used to a PC, I'd say go for the PC version. I have the original on both 360 and PC and I've stuck with PC ever since. Definitely worth playing!

I've played 1, 2, and about 50% of Brotherhood on PC. The first one was ok, but really repetitive. The second one was great, I really enjoyed it. The second part changed the gameplay mechanics quite much, Brotherhood just adds bunch of new stuff and a new story. It's still pretty good. Maybe I should finish it. Oh, and I used XBOX360 controller with all of these titles.

I am also playing the series now

Ac1 was boring to death. You can just skip it. I had finished it in Ps3 as well, it was boring. PC version was boring too.

AC2 is great
get that and than buy brotherhood and revelations.

Yes play them all.

I played them in the order of AC2, AC1, AC:BrotherHood and AC:Revelations.

A lot of people said that AC1 sucked and its not worth playing but I enjoyed it a lot. A very different style of gameplay in terms of what you have to do compared to AC2 and the others (imo).

I say play them in order for the story. If not play AC2 first as its (imo) the best out of the current 4. Then AC1 (To catch up with the previous story), AC:BH, AC:R.

Yes if you have not decided based on the people who posted before me tongue.gif

AC1 was fun, and interesting. And to me, it was the most "pure" of the series. As it involves a lot of normal assassinating. But then, it gets stale after a while and the colo palette is really dull.

AC2 changes everything and I mean it. Movement is faster, Ezio is more agile, much more likeable, much more easy to relate to, and the interaction between Desmund and his frens are cool. The color palette is much more vivid than the first game and the environments in which you slay your victims are varied as well.

AC:B is essentially the same as AC2 only bigger and adds a assassin squad at your disposal. Nonetheless, it is worth playing and really fun.

AC:Revalations involved Desmund a lot more but hey, it is cool and Assassin's Creed. By this point of time, the likeable and interesting Ezio will get more and more stale by now. But, it ends off the Ezio trilogy very well in my opinion, and a must-play if you played AC2 and AC:B.

I CANT wait for AC3!!!!! Really want to climb trees and kill dudes with a tomahawk. :3

I heard they improved on the repetitiveness of Assassin's Creed in the sequels, but after beating the first game I didn't really feel like giving them a try. When all it takes is a mastery of countering to take on 20+ guys and be invincible the game kinda loses its fun.

ACII is huge leaps ahead of the original, and the mechanics keep getting adjusted (in a positive manner) with each game so it's getting better and better.

AC was a mess, but the story was solid. I dealt with the horrible repetition because I had to know how it ended for Desmond.
ACII was like a whole new game. While it still had some repetition it was now like your standard "open world" repetition with varying side mission styles, and so forth. But you didn't have that "complete 3 of the quest pieces before finding the target" style crap. The game story was even better, too.
AC: Brotherhood I thought would be a cash in, but it's not. Not as many locales but the story is sick, and it gives a huge look at where the game series is going.
AC: Revelations... that's a bit of a toss up. The story is needed, and wrapping up Ezio is needed ,but the game didn't click the same way. When it was over I was anxiously awaiting ACIII, but I didn't feel as hooked to the game.

So AC/ACII/AC:B are definitely worth it for the gameplay and story alone. AC:R is worth it for the story progression, and you get a good look into Desmond's past (if you collect the fragments) that's cool to see... but the game itself doesn't hold as well as the first three.
