I decided to go down to 227 from 228 block (2.5ghz) due to some HT retries showing up on the log. My tpf almost saw no increase. It was 5:46 @ 228 block and now is 5:49 @ 227 block while working on a 6901 wu. I still have to make sure is stable with the 6903/04 wu's.

Looks good to me run retries occasionally while it is folding. I do not see any retries in your screen shot. One a minute is acceptable but 0 is better.

That screen is with 227 block and 0 errors. I was getting 0051 next to where it says node 7 with 228 block. I think I'm done playing with it since all I wanted was 2.5Ghz and more ppd than the SR-X biggrin.gif

51 over how long of a period, the # 1, 2, 3 are the total amount of retries each time you run it. If there have been any retries since the last time you ran it the # will increase if you had the #51 after 51 minutes running you were OK borderline but still ok. 1 a minuet is usually safe as far as retries go. There may be something other than just communication errors causing the retries if there is, such as too low voltage for the OC then you can still have instability. thumb.gif

The node 7 does not look good back the OC off a little you are getting too many ht-retries there and your frame time is probably suffering a little from it. try dropping it by 1 at a time start the rig and run ht-retries at idle then start FAH and run ht-retrie every 2 or 3 min and see how many you get.

OK. Once the WU ends tonight at 9PM I'll give it a few restarts/adjustments.
What is this an indication of exactly?
Probably not any indication but every time I increase the OC the TPF does drop.
If the retries were a big-big problem wouldn't the TPF start to go up or at least show little change?
Thanks.

That is an indication that the processors are not communicating properly between themselves and if you get too many of them it will cause instability and you will loose the WU eventually. You may get away with running it with it happening from time to time but eventually the law of averages will catch up and you will have crashes an WU losses. wink.gif A few are ok allot are risky it all depends on the numbers.

Sorry to derail; is it possible to run a GTX 590 or Radeon 6990 type card? I know the board can't SLI or X-Fire, but would that apply to the 2-in-1 cards as well?

I'm considering a 4P for a new workstation and folding...but would REALLY like a triple monitor setup this time around. I have other machines for gaming, but having an absolute beast video card would be excellent for this purchase.
