The kicker is, I had it work once, with one card, but as soon as I added the second...boom, no video. Any other advice?
Thanks
I don't know which motherboard you have but I've a Extreme 11 and I have the same problem as your that one of my GPUs only run at 1.1 PCI-E or 2.0 PCI-E. What I did was

1.Reset the Bios setting
2.Uninstall all the Nvidia driver
3.Turn the setting in the Bios to run PCI-E at 3.0
4. Add both GPUs THEN install the Nvidia driver (I also have GTX670 and use the latest Beta driver)

Hope that helps.

I did manage to get my 670s running in PCIE 3.0...however, I could not get it to be stable. My pc would sometimes start fine, sometimes it wouldn't. Stability was terrible if I tried to put then SLI. I tried the official drivers and the beta drivers but I just cannot get it stable. I do have a few more things to try, such as what you have done...I also have a 560 pulling duty as. PhysX only card. This may be causing issues. Still, it seems like there is an issue with the BIOS as it won't startup well all the time. BTW I have the fatal1ty pro.

EDIT: sorry guys. I'm new to the whole forum and high end pc thing. didn't know there was a site specifically for cpu z validation. found it and submitted that way.

Hey guys, the Extreme11 has been out for a ~month now. What's the consensus so for on overclocking and the VRMs ? What's your opinion on the 24 double stacked VRMs? Better ? Is a mobo waterblock necessary on this board ? 4.8-5.0 doable without one ? Curious minds... thumb.gif

I haven't yet started overclocking the board.....but I can tell you that the x79/LSI fan, called the "x-fan", is a loud little thing. I would water cool it even if it didn't help temps....just so I didn't have to hear that sounds.

But I love the board overall.

i would definately have to agree with this. that little fan is extremely loud when it kicks in. would love to see a waterblock for the board itself!!!!

PM me if you're interested in one. A group of us here on OCN are having a block custom built for the board. Nateman_doo is in the design phase right now, and you can see latest iterations in my build log. Link in sig.

Definitely with the 24+2 power phase design has given me a higher OC at less voltage. Ive been running my 3930k 5ghz @ 1.40v, CPU-Z showing 1.392v during load. I got my 3930k to boot into windows at 5.2ghz @ 1.47v, but was unstable during stressing. Will have to mess with that more later, but im very happy @ 5ghz right now so i havent pushed it too much. The review @ TPU were getting the same lower voltage requirements.
http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASRock/X79_Extreme11/

Right now i just have a fan mounted above the VRMs.
Asrock included software displays 2 motherboard temp, m/b and SB. The m/b temps on AXTU I believe are reading from the VRMs? As AXTU south bridge temps are reading the lower part of the board.
Anyone know for sure?

Hi I might be getting one of these soon they seem to be a good buy and look great aesthetically as well. I can source the Extreme 3, 6, 9 or 11(I won't get the 11 at $730 AUD). But I am stuck on the 3, 6, 9, Asus Sabertooth or the Asus Rampage IV Formula. I am going to be running 1-2 HDDs 1-2 SSDs, 4x4gb 16gb kit of ram, intel 3930K, one EVGA GTX 670 FTW (hopefully a second or third later on most likely only two), Asus Xonar Essence STX so I need a free slot. Fairly certain I don't want the Extreme 3 with only 4 dimm slots and not very many power phases. If I grew money in my garden I would get the 11, 4 way SLI all slots at 16x sounds mind blowing.
