I had to stop using it. My system started to become unstable while using the Xfastram utility? It was working just fine until my ssd died on me. Now I'm using a new 256gb OCZ vertex4 with the new 2.30 bios. If I keep playing with this computer my wife is going to kill me lol.

I have been doing alot of drive configuration changes latly on my X58 4X classified machine and I happened to see this post when looking for a maximum throughput on the southbridge chipset of the X79. From what I can tell your motherboard probably has multiple processors for the inputs from external and internal connections. And you have your configuration going from your primary drive array and or drive through the non primary chipset. This is fine, for example on my board I am routing the primary ssd through the JMB 363 chipset, when the board expects to find it on the 1ch10R. The reason I did this was to give my Raid 0 array the full southbridge chipset capabiliy of 600MBps. while leaving the primary in it's native 275MBps config. The reason I am explaining this is because by changing the chipset I used for a C:\ Drive, I had to load drivers for the 363 controller before the C:\ drive would even accept a Windows 7 64 bit Ultimate install. I then had to bring up the OS and then had to load drivers for a logical 5 disk raid 0 array through the ICh10R controller to restore my array. It sounds like you are really in need not of technical troubleshooting but just a driver/configuration knowledge of your board for a odd configuration. I hope I helped, if not I am willing to do what I can to help. Sinsceerly, Fitz.
PS, if anyone knows what the actual hardware limits for the X79 are in terms of throughput plz let me know I am curiouse, also I would like to know specific throughputs of X79 southbridge chipsets if anyone catches my drift. I am all about data acess times. I have read that some southbridges can theroreticaly reach 2gigs a sec, but in reality will only reach 1.5 gigs a sec, if anyone can point me in the best throughput chipsets direction I would appreciate it. thanks Everyone."

Just picked up an Asrock X79 Extreme6 off of newegg really liked the price of only 189.99. biggrin.gif Went with their free shipping only to be pissed off that its coming by FedEx. Last week ordered some water blocks for my GTX690 and GTX650Ti and other stuff using FedEx and they delivered my package to some other place. Glad I was watching my tracking or would of never got it. mad.gif wasn't fun calling and talking to about 5 different peeps trying to fine my package. H8 FedEx. mad.gif Anyways my Watercool Heatkiller motherboard blocks should be here in acouple days non FedEx. Looking to have some fun with this board.thumb.gif

Anyone know where the M/B temps are reading on the Asrock boards? I was hoping VRMs.

Using 3.30 bios, and when i got this board it had 2.xx bios.
At least the older bios allowed Gen3 for the video card, and i even had a mix of Gen3 and Gen2 and it worked fine.

But the later bios don't boot with Gen3 enabled, even though all 3 of my vid cards are Gen3.

Hope they fix it.

My new bios for my Fatal1ty pro reduced my ram overclocking big time doh.gif I re flashed back to 1.5 and was able to run 2400mhz again. I'm hoping they fix this in time for Ivy bridge-e chips.

All of a sudden, though I have changed nothing on my pc in a few days, the splash/boot screen fro my ASRock x79 Fatal1ty Pro doesn't show. It boots up and loads Windows ok, but I don't get the red Fatal1ty screen that gives me the option to go into the UEFI etc.

Anyone else had this happen? Know how to fix it?

I have noticed the same thing. If I keep my external hd plugged in I will get splash sceen for 6 seconds. Unplug it and reboot and it's so fast I barley see it at all. I think you just have a fast pc thumb.gif
