To all of the "nay sayers", "fanboys", and "haters", ASRock Slides into 3rd Place in Channel Motherboard Market Share!

That's correct. What exactly does that mean, you ask? They are ahead of Biostar, ECS (Elitegroup), EVGA, Foxconn, Intel, JETWAY, MSI, and ZOTAC, among others.

Before you decide your old attitude about ASRock is legit, you may want to reevaluate it.

Awesome, welcome! I'm looking forward to see what the higher end boards are capable of.

The Extreme11 will be out soon as well.

Last night I spent a few hours trying to get my 2 500gb western digital drives in raid0 (Western Digital Caviar Blue WD5000AAKS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s)
I am booting from an OCZ Agility 3 SSD, in the 6gbs SATA port 0 without any issues there, but when I went back to bios after installing win 7 ult 64bit and all of my motherboard drivers.
In the bios I changed the SATA function to RAID after plugging my 2 WD 500's into the 3gbs (ports _0 and _1). Reboot, and hit CTRL+I to open the configuration utility, set both drives to raid0, and created one logical drive.
Boot to windows, and windows says that it can not find my raid controller driver. At the same time, my CD/DVD-R drive is not recognized by windows 7 either.
I have installed all of the Win7 updates, tried to manually point windows to the marvel raid drivers found here.
I tried to use different sata ports like M4 + M5, while setting those to raid, but when I attempt that, I cant even enter the Raid config utility during startup.
I caved at about 1am this morning and set up a Raid0 stripe through windows 7
:(
. (which is last resort because I haven't herd of them being very stable at all)
Anything I'm not thinking of to try? Anyone else had this issue?

2.23 Installing Windows® 7 / 7 64-bit / VistaTM / VistaTM 64-bit With
RAID Functions
If you want to install Windows® 7 / 7 64-bit / VistaTM / VistaTM 64-bit OS on Intel®
SATA2 / SATA3 ports with RAID functions, please follow below steps.
STEP 1: Set up UEFI.
A. Enter UEFI SETUP UTILITY Advanced screen Storage Confi guration.
B. Set the option "SATA Mode" to [RAID] for Intel® SATA2 / SATA3 ports.
Set the option "Marvell SATA3 Bootable" to [Yes] for Marvell SATA3 ports.
STEP 2: Use "RAID Installation Guide" to set RAID confi guration.
Before you start to confi gure the RAID function, you need to check the installation
guide in the Support CD for proper confi guration. Please refer to the document in
the Support CD, "Guide to SATA Hard Disks Installation and RAID Confi guration",
which is located in the folder at the following path:
.. \ RAID Installation Guide
STEP 3: Install Windows® 7 / 7 64-bit / VistaTM / VistaTM 64-bit OS on your
system. The optical drive should be installed on an non Intel® SATA2
/ SATA3 port.
Insert the Windows® 7 / 7 64-bit / VistaTM / VistaTM 64-bit optical disk into the optical
drive to boot your system, and follow the instruction to install OS on your system.
When you see "Where do you want to install Windows?" page, please insert our
Support CD to your system, and click the "Load Driver" button to load Intel® RAID
drivers. Intel® RAID drivers are located in the following path of our Support CD:
32 bit: ..\i386\Win7_Vista_Intel_v3.0.0.1112
64-bit: ..\AMD64\Win7-64_Vista64_Intel_v3.0.0.1112
After that, please insert Windows® 7 / 7 64-bit / VistaTM / VistaTM 64-bit optical disk
into the optical drive again to continue the OS installation.
That's from page 63 of the manual. It seems you can't setup that kind of RAID, unless you're doing it during a Win7 install. Also, your optical drive can't be connected to any SATA2 or 3 port. I've also read this somewhere else. Seems strange, but that's how it worked elsewhere as well. Hope this helped.

I was actually able to accomplish this when I replaced my 2 500gb HDDs and got 2 1TB drives (steal off ebay for $100 new).

I installed the hard drives into the M2/M3 ports (my SSD on the M0 port), I then booted into the bios and enabled raid for the M2/M3 AND also enabled bootable raid controller for these drives.

When booting I hit "m" to setup the raid through marvell, booted to windows and formatted the drives. Boot times were slow because of how long it would take to start both of the bootable drivers(this happens before the bios even starts.

So I went back into the bios and disabled the bootable M2/M3, for my raid. I cannot boot from this raid, which I don't need because of the SSD, but I can use it in windows, and will retain it if I format windows.

I'm glad you got it worked out. Good buy there.

Makes much more sense now. I'm glad you posted the working results to help the next person out.

There's plenty of folks here on OCN that can afford many builds and see ASRock as the newest up and coming board to use. I have faith.

As great as Ivy Bridge is I just don't feel like moving from one dead socket (775) into another dead end socket (1155).
The LGA1366 is dead too, but still kickin' in many builds.

It'd be nice to see another owner soon.

Don't let the socket problem get ya down. They always die every few years.

After seeing the 3770k overclocked benchmarks I've pretty much made my decision. I should be ordering in the next month or two. I'll be sure to take lots of pics.

An Extreme 6/GB + 3820 are looking extremely appealing.
