I would like to own th Fatal1ty x79 pro because of the change in layout, removal of the game blaster(i love the lan features of it, but it hinders cooling on the GPUs) and because I knew Jon a long time ago so I would support him, and products he endorses.

So have any of you with a 3930k been overclocking with these motherboards? I was curious if you have had success with changing things like the PPL.

I have played with BLCK straps some, and use less voltage for the same clocks near 4.5ghz, but can only achieve this by down clocking my memory some.

I was playing with mine last night and got to 4.5GHz with just raising the voltage up by .050. If I wanted to go any higher, I think I'd also have to underclock my memory some.

The XMP setting has the timings set to 7-8-7-24 @ 800MHz. I'm pretty sure I'd have to go with 6-7-6-21 @ 685MHz to overclock the CPU past 4.7GHz.

I've had it to 4.6GHz with the built in settings, but the temps were too high to maintain it for any length of time under heavy load.

The thermal protection kept kicking in and lowering the overclock.

My XMP setting is 9-11-10-28 @ 2133mhz, but right now I'm running 9-11-10-28 @ 1773, I want to go one multi higher, but it seems like my memory needs to be loosend just a bit when I go to 4522. I'm at 4389 @ 1.296v right now, testing to see if I can keep dropping the voltage and keep it stable.
