Base clock: 133
Current: 250-300 (I left mine at 250 so far and its ok)
Pll overvoltage protection: enabled
Cpu Voltage: 1.350v
Intel Speed Step Tech: disabled.
I find it better to run a bclk of 133 but yours might run better on 125. If you can't stabilize with bclk 133 try 125x37 and 1.350v.
Also, any bsod codes?

Hello, thank you for the response.
I went ahead and tried what you suggested. I assumed by current to 250-300, you meant the core current limit; I set that to 250. As for pll over voltage, I can't find that in my bios, I do have a vrm protection setting though (same thing?), I set that to enabled. As for my ram, I set it to XMP 1.3 ddr3-1418.

So I ran p95 with That and got bsod. Stop error was "stop: 0x00000101 (0x0000000000000019, 0x0000000000000000, 0xFFFFF88006902180, 0x0000000000000006)

Does CPU load-line calibration do anything, or should it be fine in auto?

I'm going to try it again with core current limit set to 300 this time.

Try more voltage, 1.375v and set over voltage to level 2. I would keep your ram at stock levels for now until you have the cpu stable. Then setup your ram. I found that mine would be unstable if I tried to oc the ram or load xmp when trying to oc my cpu. I found manually adjusting the ram was more stable than my xmp profile.

edit: I bumped up my bclk to 133.3 and now I'm running 4665 stable.

Thank you. I'll go ahead and try that, just one question; what do you mean by set over voltage to level 2? Is that the CPU load line calibration?

Yes. Sorry, I'm coming of SB, and I'm still using the jargon from them biggrin.gif. I'll post a pic of my settings in the uefi.

Great, thanks. biggrin.gif
I'll see how these settings work out for me. I'll try and run p95 overnight and see what happens (need to use computer for now, and can't have it crashing on me)

Tbh, since I started using intel (lg1366) I had no need to run prime for more than 30 mins. I've ran all my benchmarks (gpu oriented) including ibt, and hours of gaming, and to me, that's stable enough for 24/7 use. Unless you are looking to join those "Stable" clubs, I really don't see any benefit of running prime for more than 1 hour tops, though I see 30 minutes as good enough. Good luck thumb.gif

I'm highly interested in the OC'ing of my 3820 as well, since I've never OC'd an Intel CPU before.

I got the RAM nice and tight, just need to push my CPU past stock. thumb.gif

try 43x100, disabled speed-step, and leave voltage in auto. That's what I did first and it was stable. Got it from the guru3d.com review:

btw, you on air or water?

Isn't it unwise to leave the voltage on auto? I guess its not that important for such a low overclock.

BTW I have my 3820 now, but I'm not sure I'll have the time to build the system till after the 11th when I have my stats exam.

You are much better off controlling the voltages as much as possible because they change so much under load vs idle.

Work your way up from stability to instability. Make sure your LLC is at lvl 1 or lvl 2, I would chose the one that makes your loaded vcore closest to what you have it set in the bios.

Example, if you set 1.32v core in the bios with LVL2 LLC. Boot into windows, turn on prime95 with CPU-Z open and see what CPU-z reports your Vcore as while the CPU is under load. If it is 1.32 or very close, use LVL2. If it is 1.29v, then up your LLC to level 1 to reduce Vdrop under load.
