A good indication of unstable ram is when only one or two of your workers fail. If you are running HT then you will see half CPU usage for the core that has a worker that stops (because 1 thread stopped working it would put the usage for that core at 50%).

The more cores that fail and stop, the less CPU usage you will see. Check the Prim95 window and you should see a message for that core that says "worker stopped".

Yea I remember now that a couple of workers had stopped when the cpu went lower than 100%. Thanks for all the help.

The Hyper 212+ when shipped with newegg comes with the Hyper EVO bracket that is suppose to fit it with the 2011 socket. And it does fit the screw placements, it is just very uncomfortably loose in my opinion. I was hoping for recommendations from people who have owned the motherboard on what to purchase next. I will be returning the cooler master one.

You could try going to a hardware store, buying some small metal washers, and placing them between where the screws meet the cooler. That might give it the extra pressure it needs. Also, check to make sure the cooler isn't touching/pressing against anything else.

Are you using a self contained water cooling system like the H70 Corsair water cooling?

Just looking for people to tell me they have X heating solution working fine, I don't want to buy something else to find out it doesn't work correctly. smile.gif

Nope, custom loop. The Raystorm block fits perfectly.

Hmm, sorry for being a complete n00b with these things, but I just can't get this thing to overclock at all. I tried setting the BCLK to 113, 117, 133 but it just won't POST. I set the ram to the correct speed, lowered the cpu multiplier, I just don't know if I'm doing something wrong, or is it just this Xeon that won't OC at all. I tried setting the BCLK to 104 but windows and Aida64 reported 100. CPU-Z is just going crazy, it isn't showing anything remotely correct on the readings.

Have you tried leaving the BCLK at 100 and increasing the muiltplyer. My 3820 posted the first try with those settings but when I set the BCLK to 125 it wouldn't post. I finally set the auto overclock to 4.6 in the bios and worked from there. I set the cpu voltage manually. and left the ram in auto at first. Finally got it going at 4.6. Is this cpu locked?

It's a Xeon E5-2620 so it's multi locked. I had one guy PM me a while back ago, telling me that he read on other forums that the Xeons will simply just not OC. I guess he was right..

btw, Auto OC? What? Where is that hidden? Or is my Xeon disabling that option as well from the BIOS?

Sounds like you need a i7 3820 or better. Xeon processors are hit or miss with OC'ing.

The auto oc settings are in the oc tweaking page in the bios, it may be disabled for that cpu. I can't find any info on ocing the e5-2620
