Bios took a crap after update yesterday............. Now I have to wait for Asrock to respond to my ticket, and get me another bios chip. I don't care if they charge me for it. Just need to get this expensive paper weight working again.

Yeah, just keep on trying, it will let you in eventually smile.gif I left mine at 4.4Ghz and it works fine, in a month time, since I had it, never had any issues at this speed thumb.gif

so a couple of updates on my little build.

First. It seems i might be hitting a VRM wall. maybe mosfet. not sure. well anything above 4.4, it boots up fine. I get some coil squeel when I start to run prime95. but the kicker is, I start to get a slight crackling sound. I have no idea what this is. some poeple have told me that they think i might have a crappy board to RMA it. but not really sure I Want to go through all that work. temps based on GPU temp meter is never above 45, so I dont think thats the reason. Anyways else heard about this crackling sound im hearing? I dont hear it till I put full load on my CPU. i didnt even know it was possible for a motherboard to make that type of sound without something blowing up. turned back down 4.4, and stress tested, its perfectly fine.

Second. My motherboard has developed a odd ummm "habit" shall i say? when I Turn it on, itll start up 3 seconds later, turn off, then restart and itll be perfectly fine. OCCASIONALLY very rarely itll do it twice. I think i had a computer that did this before and it was never a problem, but when it did it twice caught me off guard. if anyone has any insight into this as well will be much appreciated.

Thanks guys!

Out of curiosity, what kind of keyboard do you have? I almost feel like I need a serial to make it register the F2 / F6 presses.

Not sure about the sound you are getting... That is odd.

Whenever I change my BLCK from 100-133 I have the 3 second power on and reboot like you do. It also happens when I disconnect the power supply for a long time.

yah the reboot isnt really worrying me much. its the crackling sound im getting along with coil while at anything above 4.4ghz. if microcenter has these motherboards in stock, i would just say screw it and see what happens and run prime95 for an hour and see if anything blows up. but I really dont want to be without a computer for a week or 2.

Just be glad you have a microcenter, or any computer store near by as an option!
