OK, so the safest bet would be just to wait until Asrock releases an updated bios with the 2620 microcode...or take a risk and order them now and hope it will work somehow somewhat (enough to burn the components in with windows & prime95)

Just one more important question: Do I need 1600MHz ram IF I plan to OC it a little bit? How flexible are the memory straps, will I survive with 1333 ram? The only 1600MHz ddr3 ecc unregistered RAM I've found is from Crucial, and it is double the price compared to the Kingston 1333 sticks.

I'd advise on ordering the board now. 1333 RAM will be perfectly fine for your server. smile.gif

Edit: I just contacted Tech Support about an updated BIOS microcode for the E5-2620 processor in the Extreme6. I'll post back what I hear. wink.gif

From what I have read, even the crappy ram overclocks like a champ with this chipset.

Sending back RAM on RMA mad.gif. Started having random bluescreens BCCode 3b. At stock, failing Prime Blend quickly. 3 errors on an overnight Memtest86+ test. Everything was set by XMS profile.

I hope it's just a bad stick and not a compatibility problem or board problem. I think I'll throw a 2x2GB set in there tonight just to see if it runs right over the weekend.

I hate when new stuff doesn't run right.

Hopefully my g-skill kit doesnt end up having any problems. I won't have a CPU to test it with untill april.

My Extreme 6 board is in though so I should have some pics late tonight or this weekend for sure.
